The History of Side

The neighbourhood built on the peninsula was an essential port city of the Pamphylia region in the archaic period. There are various historical sites in this region. The area became a centre of science and culture during the Roman period. During Arab invasions, it was looted, and many artefacts were lost. At the end of the 1800s, Cretan Muslims escaped the Greek rebellion and came to this region and built a village for them to live. This village was known as Selimiye village today which is Side.

Places to stay in Side?

There are many hotels in Side and in surrounding areas. Hotels located in the centre are smaller than the surrounding hotels, which a vast majority serve breakfast. If you desire to stay in an all-inclusive hotel, you may need to go further from the centre.

Our advice would be to rent a property for your vacation because you can be more comfortable. If you have a big family, it is much more economical compared to staying in a hotel. Also let's not forget to mention that if you stay in a property, you can see more because you will go out more.
